Hi there! Well we made it. The year is coming to a quick close. This is so fun for kids, but it is so sad for me! I have LOVED teaching this group of kids! I have also LOVED getting to know great parents. I am so LOVING all the thank you cards and gifts. My favorite part is hearing about how you have seen your child grow this year. I too have seen each and every kid grow up. They are all ready for the 5th grade! I will continue to check on them often!

Report Cards come home tomorrow. There is only one student in this class that has missing library books. Remember, report cards will be held until this is taken care of. Thanks.

Here is our final field trip slide show. We had a great time!!! The final talents are also at the end. I LOVED seeing these kids share their talents with us! Who knew some of these kids had secret talents???

Tomorrow we have our bike trip to Hawthorne Park. We will leave around 8:45. I will provide water. So, all kids need is their bike and helmet. They DO NOT need their backpacks. The only thing they will carry home is their report card. Please apply sunscreen at home and NO flip flops please! Thanks.

One more half day tomorrow and summer starts!! I will not ever delete this blog, so kids can visit it anytime like a yearbook. Have a wonderful summer and I will miss all of you (kids and parents) very, very much. Thank you for sharing your kids with me, and for trusting me to be a part of their journey!

Love,
Ms. Erickson

Hi. We had a great day filled with awards, a very funny monkey movie, wiffle ball, and more awards. I am so proud of all the effort ALL the kids put in. A special wow goes to Alex and Shyler who earned the Citizenship award. This is an award I look for all year long. It goes to two kids that demonstrate good grades, excellent behavior inside and outside of class, friends with everyone, respect to teachers, and outstanding character traits. Way to go girls!!!! That was a hard one to pick in this bunch. So many kids grew this year!!!!

Speaking of growth...today your child is bringing home their test scores for the 4th grade. You will see where they started and where they ended. I could not be prouder of this bunch. They worked hard and they earned every single point they grew. I can teach them, but in the end they have to show it all on their own. Please sign the slip and return tomorrow for a popsicle. You will get a print out in the report card as well.

Tomorrow is our Pompey's Pillar trip. Please see yesterday's post for details. DON'T forget your lunch! Mrs. Betts will be on the bus with my class and Mr. Ashcraft and I will meet you there after Beau's Kindergarten graduation. Yay!!! My how they grow up fast.

There is no more planners. Please have kids write down my phone number out of the front before disposing of them. They are welcome to call me anytime for the rest of their life. :0)

Homework tonight, is to complete Mr. Senitte's goodbye paper. They can write a letter about what they learned from him, some advise for him at Alkali Elementary, or just draw a picture of a memory with him. This will be their ticket on the bus tomorrow, so don't come without it! Thanks.

A HUGE thank you for the Stokes family for the delicious HOT out of the oven  brownies and card and to Halle for my Target Gift Card. Can't wait to buy the Madisa CD!!!!!! Thank you for saying thank you most of all. I loved teaching your kids!!!!

Have a great, great day! Cya tomorrow!

Happy Monday!!! Well, we made it to the last week. We are finishing up even stronger than we thought. Here is a run down of this week's events:

Tuesday: Wiffle Ball Games (Rescheduled from Friday's Rain Outs) Wear Tennis shoes
AND movie. Students may bring treat and drink. Awards assembly and BUG Club Assemblies are today.

Wednesday: Pompey's Pillar Field Trip. I will be arriving later due to Beau's Kindergarten End of the Year Program. So, Mrs. Betts will be me until I get out there. Mr. Ashcraft  and Mrs. Stokes will also be joining us!!! Yay!! Don't forget LONG pants (ticks), layered tops, CLOSED shoes and coat, hat, lunch and sunscreen (apply at home). We will leave right away and return after 2.

Thursday: Bring home all supplies. Don't forget your backpack. It will be heavy, so a ride home might be a good idea.

Friday: Bike Trip to Hawthorne Park. Kids need to ride their bikes to school with a helmet. We will leave right away and be back by 11:30. Dismissal is at noon. Last day of school. Kids DO NOT need backpacks. Might want water bottle for park though. PLEASE write a note in the planner if your child doesn't have a bike or helmet. We might be able to help. Mr. Hankins and Mr. Ashcraft will also be joining us!!!!

Report Cards will go home this Friday. Kids that have outstanding Library fees or missing books will NOT receive their report cards until they are taken care of. They may be picked up at the office over the summer when fines are paid. Thanks.

If you have read this and marked your calendar then please write GOT IT in the planner for $50.

Have a great weekend!

Hi there. Another great day in the land of Erickson. :0)

We were unable to do our talents today due to having library this morning. We watched the movie this afternoon. That left us no free time to squeeze it in. We will get them all in on Friday. Keep practicing in the meantime kiddos.

Tomorrow is our Fossil Dig Field Trip. I sure am hoping that I am feeling better. I have been fighting a cold since Monday. Don't want to miss the field trip, but also thinking it might not be the smartest move for me to be out in 50 degree weather either. Right now Bridger weather report is stating it will be cold and wet in the afternoon. I am really hoping that it holds off. Please send your child to school with the notion that we ARE going. If something happens, we will just stay at school. So, bring lunches, hats, sunscreen (apply at home), and wear those long pants and tennis shoes. The bus leaves right away and will be back around 2ish. DON'T FORGET YOUR ELECTRONICS FOR THE BUS RIDE!!!!

Now that I have reported the happy news, I will switch to the not so happy news. Mr. Senitte has taken a position at Alkali Creek Elementary School next year. His amazing leadership skills are needed there. Bitterroot will gain Mr. English. While we HATE losing Mr. Senitte, we welcome Mr. English. He comes with a lot of experience and love for kids. He is just returning from a military leave overseas as well. We can't wait to meet him. Please help me in welcoming him next year, and by saying goodbye to Mr. Senitte. A letter is coming home today explaining this as well. We wish him all the luck in the world, and NO you may not transfer your angel to Alkali next year!!!! :0)

Have a great night!

Hi there. We had a blast at field day today. Kids that make Mrs. Buss a thank you card for putting it together will earn $100 tomorrow. (Has to be 4th grade quality!!!!) Another HUGE thank you to Mrs. Leo for taking pictures. I will get those posted soon!

As you can see above, we have some true talent in our class. Here are some of them. Today, we had Ramero and Brayden demonstrate their talent as well. This is so fun.

Tomorrow is the Miracle movie. Kids may buy into the fun events that go with this day.

For $1 each....
1. Wear school appropriate pajamas
2. Bring a stuffed animal, blanket, and pillow to snuggle with
3. Bring a drink (with a lid) and a snack. Kids know what size soda I allow. Snacks are up to the parents as long as they are not messy or melt.

So, if kids want to do all three, they need to bring a $3 donation.

So far, our field trip is a go. We called today, and they said it is looking good. We shall see.

Tomorrow is the last day for Sitton Spelling. I am so proud to type that we only have two students on the last test to go!!! I just know they will pass tomorrow and be DONE!

Lastly, ask to see your child's Gallon Land. have them read you the little story/poem to you. Then have them figure out how many Pints are in 2 Gallons using their project to help them. Write the answer in their planner for $100 tomorrow.

Have a great night!

Hi there. It was our first day of wiffle ball today, and wouldn't you know it I forgot my camera in the classroom. Drats! I will have to get some footage on Friday when we play again. They did a great job! I am seeing some good character out there!!!

The rest of the week is looking like this...

Tomorrow: Field Day from 1-3. Kids need to wear hats, sunscreen (apply at home), cool clothes, and tennis shoes. Those that come in flip flops will not be able to participate due to safety issues. Sunglasses are also ok. Student Council will also have their end of the year lunch tomorrow at 11:30. Pizza will be served for our three reps.

Wednesday: Miracle Movie and Buy In Day. Kids will join with Mrs. Hankin's class and watch the best movie about BELIEVE possible! Back by popular demand, we also want to do one last buy in day. So, kids may bring a real dollar for each of the events they want to participate in. They can do none, one, two, or all three. It is up to them. It is just a dollar for each event. 1. Bring and eat their own snack and drink for the movie. 2. Bring a favorite stuffed animal, blanket, and/or pillow to snuggle down with for the show. 3. Wear their pajamas to school. (School appropriate). Fun, Fun, Fun!

Thursday: Field trip to Bridger Fossil Dig. Kids need to dress in long pants and tennis shoes. Hats are also a bonus. It is supposed to be rainy and cold. If it does rain in Bridger on Wednesday or Thursday morning we WILL NOT GO. The crew that takes us in will not go if it is muddy at all. We will keep you posted. Kids will need a sack lunch for this as well. The two that ordered one, I have it here for ya.

Friday: More wiffle ball, like 4 games more!! Wow, it will be a busy day. Tennis shoes again. :0)

We are still plugging away at these talent show performances. They are doing awesome. I have six more to post. I will try to get them uploaded soon. Videos tend to take a bit longer.

Ask your child what their favorite act was today in the 5th and 6th grade talent show. If they can tell you write TALENT in the planner for $100.

Have a great night!

Hi there. I hope you had a great weekend OUTDOORS! What wonderful weather. How many of you planted your flowers or garden plants??? If you did write PLANT in the planner for $100. Great job! You are ahead of me!

Here is the long awaited slide show of the Grewell Ranch Field Trip! As you can see, we had a great time! Our next one is this Thursday. We will head to Bridger for our fossil dig. This week we will take a look at some of the fossils we will find. We will be gone all day. Students will need shoes, long pants, hat and sunscreen. It is supposed to be a nice cool day so hopefully we will avoid snakes at all cost. I already told them I am VERY afraid of snakes!!! Urg!

Tomorrow we start our Wiffle Ball Tournament. We are scheduled to play each class in the grades 3-6. We play tomorrow and Friday. Field day is Wednesday afternoon. Tennis shoes for both are a good idea. Each day after we play a wiffle ball game kids will get a character reflection sheet. They will go through each trait and see how they did. IT is not about winning, but about building character. The two that show the best character in all the games will be selected to play in the All star game where the kids play the teachers. Will it be your kid???

The rest of the week will be normal going. Make sure your child knows that we are still going strong. I am impressed so far how they have dealt with all the hands on fun learning. Great work! Have a wonderful Sunday!
