Happy Birthday Darren and Korbyn!!! These two are one year older now! Growing up so fast I tell ya!
I hope that your Labor Day weekend is going great. We spent the day rollerskating and enjoying the beautiful weather outside. Hoping to do some slip and sliding tomorrow to wrap it up. Loving this fallish like weather!!! What was your favorite new memory this weekend? Write it in your child's agenda for a bonus $20 on Tuesday at check in.
This summer I attended a conference. On one of their hallway walls was this saying. I just wanted to share it with you, because I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I have no idea who wrote it, but I definitely believe it! It goes...
A child is a butterfly in the wind: some can fly higher than others. But each one flies the best that it can. Why compare one against the other? Each one is different. Each one is special. Each one is beautiful.
Brett is our new star of the week coming up. He may start to bring in his items to share anytime this week before Friday. I can't wait to see what he has to share. If I had to guess, one of the items will have to do with dinosaurs. I have noticed he has quite the interest in them.
We will continue our Hurricane studies this week. On Wednesday, we will join with Mrs. Hankin's class and create shaving cream and origami hurricanes. It should be a great time and packed with learning.
Grades in the grade book have started. Next week, I will start to send home the weekly grade sheet. It will show all the grades that have been recorded thus far. Please feel free to visit with me about them if you have any questions. Watch for those on Friday. I wasn't going to count this past spelling test, but the grades were awesome so I added them in. Great job on studying those words. I have added the new words off to the side to start practicing now.
I leave you with two videos. During our morning character circle meetings we have learned to shake hands with good eye contact and a firm handshake. On this day, we discovered what our names sound like when we say them backwards. So, we call this the alien handshakes. Fun!
Have a great Monday!!!
