Don't Let Drugs Tie You Up Day!

Day two...done. Today we heard from four teenagers from Sr. High. They shared their experiences with drugs, their treatment, and how they are doing today. Great stories. The kids were very into it, and they held their attention. The surprising fact of the day was that most of them started out at grade 4 by smoking cigarettes. Then they moved to marijuana and alcohol, and finally to harder drugs. They talked about how their choices destroyed the trust between them and their parents and one of them was asked to leave the family home for good and is now in foster care. It was good for the kids to hear it from another voice, and an experienced voice. I can only offer what I think that life on drugs is like. Pretty powerful day, even for me.

Kids don't have writing tonight, so they have a multiplication math sheet. We got on the computers today and did all sorts of multiplication things. We discovered the solution to the xtramath.org issue. They must use their new pin numbers to sign in. This will take them to the multiplication section instead of adding and subtracting. They sure can do both though. It won't hurt them. Students should know their 0-3s quickly for their quiz tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Sock It To Drugs Day. Kids may wear their CRAZY socks tomorrow to school to show their school spirit and that they are joining in school-wide to say NO to drugs! We will also watch the movie tomorrow. Kids were told that they may bring their blankets and pillows to get comfy on the floor with during the movie. I am not worried about anyone sleeping because it is an action packed movie!!!

Have a wonderful evening!
