Day Three...We socked out drugs for sure!!!! What a great turn out on crazy socks!! (As you can see.) Tomorrow is Drugs stink, wear pink. We talked about our school handbook and how it applies tomorrow. The only time kids are allowed to wear hair spray/die is during crazy hair day. Please do not send your child to school with hair dye/spray tomorrow. They will be asked to wash it out. Plus, we have PE and it will run and ruin clothes when they get all sweaty. Also, no face paint please. If students are having trouble finding pink there are easy solutions. They can take a piece of ribbon or string, color it pink if needed, and wear it as a bracelet or belt. Pink nail polish also works. It doesn't have to be from head to toe to count. They just need to wear pink. Those that have pink can pink it up! Let's just keep it within the school rules and policies please. Fun!!! We are also doing pink tomorrow for another reason as well. Tomorrow is pack the place in pink night at Skyview during the girls volleyball game. If you purchased a shirt that we were offering, please wear it tomorrow as part of your pink get up. These shirts represent our support for our school and for breast cancer. Double support!!!! They were selling them at the Log Cabin Bakery for $6. Not sure now though????
Today, we also watched the Little House on the Prairie Movie. After it, we generated a list of all the people that were effected by Albert's choice to do drugs. We discovered that our decisions don't just effect the one making them, but a ton of other people as well. And, we discovered that the effects of those choices can be really, really hard on parents. Have your child talk to you about how the choices effected Pa, Ma, Laura, Doc. Baker, Mr. Olson, Laura, Albert's friends, Koada, and Miss. Plum. If they can share with you some of the effects, write the word ALBERT in their planner for a $50 bonus tomorrow.
Please don't forget that this Friday is the Bitterroot Pumpkin Patch Party. It is $3 for kids and free for parents. Everything is included in that price. It starts at 6:30 and runs until 8. Kids may come in their costumes. Cya at the door!!! :0) They are also taking canned food donations for the food bank as well at the door. What a great thing to do for our character trait of Citizenship!
Xtramath.org is acting interesting. Please have your child use their OLD password and continue to work on their addition facts at home. We will work on multiplication here. BUT, they should play the games on the blog using the facts that we are working on. (0-3's). A few kids also say that they are getting quizzed using flashcards at home. THANK YOU!!!!!
Have a great evening!
