Hi there. It is halfway through the week and we are on track! I have to say that I am LOVING their raindrop stories. Oh my goodness they are cute! Way to go kids! The ones today looked like they had been checked for editing and spelling so thank you. Tonight they need to find their family and friends and go through condensation. There is a Drippy example in their notebooks. Tomorrow we will finish them up and then Friday we will prepare the final draft. Their raindrop character is also due on Friday. I had several bring them in today. Cute and creative. They are not due until Friday though. Have fun with them. I think this is the best writing project I have ever done in my teaching career. They are putting in such creative ideas that are so unique to them.
We worked very hard today in math. We went over our MOL we did yesterday. Many kids asked questions, and I so appreciate that this group loves to learn and get better. I did notice that many of them struggle with subtraction with regrouping, especially with zeros. So, today we did a subtraction review. Please continue to work on this at home.
We did not have computers today. If your child does an xtramath.org session I will reward them $100 tomorrow. Practice makes perfect...
Today, we also journeyed to Jamestown, Virginia. We played a game where they were a colonist and they had to try to survive. Ask them if they did or not. If not, what killed them? If they can share the experience with you, write JAMESTOWN in their planner for $50 tomorrow.
Have a great night.
