Happy Birthday to Shyler!!! Thanks for the yummy cupcakes! Fun-fetti are my favorite! I hope you get to do something fun tonight!
We have some exciting news in our class! Miss. Makiah has been granted a Make a Wish from the Make a Wish Foundation. She has been granted a two week Disney Cruise in Hawaii!!!!!! Ahhhhhhh!!! We are all so jealous, but even more we are so grateful this has happened for our Makiah. Her friend, MacKayla stood up today during our feelings time and shared, "I am happy today because Makiah has good news instead of bad." Wow! Empathy at its best. Congratulations Makiah, and I could really, really try to fit in your suitcase! :0)
Tomorrow is the LAST day to bring in pennies. Let's all look under all those couch cushions one more time! Also, don't forget about those children's books. Thanks to all the ones that came in today! This class and their family rocks!
The pictures posted tonight are of our last Metric Olympic event: Weight Lifting. You can see that they had to grab one handful of marbles. Then they had to use the balance scale to find the weight. We also took our final post test today on the metric system. I can tell you this, when kids learn through doing in science they are getting it! Great work! Watch for those on the grade reports that come home tomorrow.
As you know, our secretary Mrs. Campbell is retiring. Her last day is next week. Mrs. Zimmerman, Cassidy's mom, will be our new one! Awesome! So, today we worked on a secret project. The kids had some very good advise to give Mrs. Campbell as far as ideas of what to do now. Ask your child what advise they gave to Mrs. Campbell. If they can tell you, write SECRET in the planner for a $10 bonus tomorrow.
Well, tomorrow is Friday. Yay! Have a wonderful evening!
