Today we went to the super fun assembly to kick off the Read A Thon! Envelopes are coming home today. Kids need to read at least 24 minutes a night and mark it on their envelopes. Envelopes MUST come to school every single day. PTA will pick them up in the morning to count them. When they reach an award (see white sheet for details on awards) they will receive it in their envelope that day. Students that bring back envelope filled out will earn $50 a day. Those that don't will owe me $100 per day. Let's read, read, read! Of course kids can read over 24 minutes and help us be the high reading class and win a pizza party!
Speaking of pizza parties...we won one!!! Great job Mrs. Erickson's class for bringing in over $200 in change. We will receive our pizza soon! Congrats also to Mrs. Hankin's class for coming in second! $th grade rocks!!!!
HIV/AIDS sheets came home today. Mrs. Buss, PE teacher, will be talking to the kids soon about this topic. Please mark if you want your child to attend. These are due back tomorrow. Kids will earn or pay $100 for this.
We finished our pen pal letters in class, so no nightly writing today! Yay! Ask your child to share the pen pal letter they received from their North Carolina buddy. If they read it aloud to you, write the word Pen Pal in the planner for $10.
I have graded half of the SS vocab quizzes. So far only three have got an A. The rest have been Cs or Fs. The final test is THIS Friday! They need to pass the next test to maintain their SS grade.
We have PE tomorrow. Please remember those shoes. Kids also have music homework in their recorder books due Monday. Has your child finished theirs??
