Hi there. We had a great first day back, but it was a packed one. We started our Alaska unit. Kids listened to me read chapter one. They now need to write Allison a letter using details FROM CHAPTER ONE! The letter must be at least a half page long, and use 4th grade letter writing skills that we learned while writing the past two pen pal letters. This will be their nightly writing assignment each time we read more of the book. Kids also need to decorate their Alaska folder with facts they learn about Alaska. They can use the internet at home as well when they have time. OR they may do it in class. It will be graded at the end of the unit.

We also watched a youtube on the San Andreas fault. Ask your child what state it is in. If they can tell you the capital of that state, write it in the planner for $10 bonus money.

Tomorrow we have our fraction unit test. They reviewed today in class. Please ask them if they need you to come up with some more practice problems for them. I am confident all will do well tomorrow.

Tomorrow, we also have our tape Mr. Senitte to the wall assembly at 1:30. I will take pictures for sure. Kids that participated and turned in their folders will be allowed to add a piece of tape to hold Mr. Senitte up. Fun!!! We will also find out if we won the top reading awards! Thanks again to PTA for all their hard work, all the fun prizes, and for getting kids excited to read!

Have an awesome night!
