Well, the damage was done. We duct taped Mr. Senitte to the wall at the Read A Thon assembly. Ramiro also won the high reader for our class award. Mrs. Hankin's class beat us in overall minutes, so we congratulate them in winning their pizza party. Now we are even. :0)

Kids have nightly writing once again tonight. They need to write their second letter to Allison. We read chapter 2 today. Yikes!!! I went over the grading system for these letters. Kids need to have at least 10 points or connections to the chapter to earn an A. 8-9 earns a B. 6-7 earns a C. 5 or below earns an F. Students will also be graded on their letter writing skills. They must have today's date, Dear Allison, a greeting like hello, A sign off statement like Your Pal, and their name. So, each day they will earn two grades. Please have your child read theirs to you tonight. It needs to sound like a letter, not just a report on facts they heard. They need to interact with Allison. Check their paper for the letter parts. If you do this, write LETTER in the planner for $50. 

Reminders: States and Capital's Test is this Friday. Crazy Sock Day is this Friday. Midterms come home this Friday. I will also include their basic multiplication progress.

In honor of our dear classmate Sadie and it being her last day tomorrow students may chew gum and bring a soda to drink. Soda must be regular size or a can. NO jumbo drinks aloud. We will miss you Sadie!!!
