Valentine's Day: Ready, Set, GO!

Hi. The committees are set. All kids were granted their first choice. They will all need to bring their agreed upon supplies by Valentines Day. They were told to write what they are to bring in their planner today. If you don't see it let me know. I have the master sheet. Please do not plan to bring treats if they are not assigned them. We have it all covered. :0)

Tonight your child should have also brought home their Valentine LOVE Monster bag project home. They need to create a bag for their valentines and this is it. These are due THIS Friday. The back details need to all relate to Valentines Day content. Here is the example I gave them.

This Love Monster Belongs to: Ms. Erickson
Name: Smooches
Nick-Name: XOXO
Age: 9 years
Favorite Color: Pink
Best Friend: Huggie
Grade in School: 4th
Favorite Toy: Squeaky Heart
Talent: Dancing
Favorite Food: Chocolate

Of course, students may NOT use any of my examples! They need to be creative and keep it with a Valentine theme. It also MUST be school appropriate. Again these are due THIS Friday! Have your child share their ideas with you and write MONSTER in the planner for $100 bonus tomorrow.

On the other side of the bag they need to create their monster. The sky is the limit on this part. Any idea goes, as long as it is school appropriate. They may use any supplies they have at home. My only rule is the bag has to stand up on their desk on its own. If students need supplies they may request them from me. If we have them here at school, then I will surely get them for them.

As some of you know our counselor had her baby last week. His name is Reyes Salazar. So, Mrs. Salazar is on leave enjoying her little bundle of joy for the next 30 some days. In her place will be Mrs. Micheletti. She is a retired counselor so she rocks!!! The kids got to do a get to know you activity with her today. That is her in the picture.

Our class has a couple of prayer/thinking requests. The Zimmerman family is dealing with their grandmother having a heart attack last night. So thoughts for her and the Zimmerman family would be appreciated. (Mom and Dad are driving to ND to be with her, kids are staying with other grandparents) Makiah is also in the hospital again. I know that she and her family would love your warm thoughts as well.

Have a wonderful evening, read at least 24 minutes on read a thon, and enjoy the snow, but keep safe!
