Well, as you can see we had a lot of fun yesterday! Great job agin on the volcanoes. They were each so unique and different!

Testing is OVER!!!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO! That was me yelling for me, the kids, and for you! Everyone did great. I am so proud of all of them!

We started part 2 of our Inuksuk projects today. Now that we have the human statues made, we now have to connect it to nature. So, kids are starting to draw their nature scenes. We will then glue on our Inuksuks where your child sees them in their visualization. So far, they are all amazing and once again unique. Our final part will be to write a Haiku poem about our scene. They will be in the hall for display sometime next week.

I am sure you have heard by now that Soul Surfer was a HUGE hit! Man did it touch their hearts. I think I should have passed out tissue before the show instead of shark fruit snacks. For me included. I have seen that show a million times now, but it gets me everytime. This time watching it with your kids though really got me. I think it was just seeing the two weeks of stories, lessons, and CC discussions finally click with them. After the show, we were able to build Bethany's ladder of life. We saw where she fell off and was carried by her friends, family, and faith for awhile. Then we also saw her get back up and start where she fell off. So, so powerful. A special thanks to Halle's mom for joining us. How fun! If you have not seen the movie yourself, please do so soon. It is amazing. There are others by the same producer as well if you enjoy it, like Facing the Giants and Fireside. Great, great films with good messages! Ask your child what their favorite part of the movie was. If they share with you, write the word BETHANY in the planner. And, yes this was a true story!!!! (The real Bethany was just on Biggest Loser last night!)

Friday is a Bitterroot Spirit Day. It is Camo day. Kids may dress in camo. They may wear hats. They may NOT color their hair or use body or face paint. Have fun with it!

We are back to a normal day tomorrow! I think the kids have missed our normal routine. I know I have. It is hard to just sit and watch the test. I love teaching!!! It will be good to get back into the groove. We will also start our new novel, Balto and the Great Race in reading class. It will tie in very nice with SS and the Alaska theme as well! This Friday, we will be listening to a guest speaker about the Iditirod Race. She has been there, and has a lot of fun things to share. We can't wait for Mrs. Yasenak!! All kids will be joining in!

Well, I sure hope you have a wonderful evening! Enjoy the fun pictures above as well. We sure learned a lot about Shyler, our last star of the week! What a great kid!
