Hi there. Welcome back!
Today we talked about Earth Day. We read The Great Kapok Tree. Ask your child what their favorite animal that talked to the sleeping man is and write it in the planner for $50 tomorrow. We talked about the Funky Junk project as well. Kids were told to go around tonight and start collecting their recycle items to make their statue. The statues need to be about a ruler tall. They need to be statues of creatures, animals, or people. They may not be statues of items or objects like a ball or spaceship. The statues need to stand up on their own. They sky is the limit. Please have Funky Junk at school on Friday morning so we can share before Earth Day on Sunday. Thanks.
We had "the most fun science lesson ever" according to Halle today. Kids made and ate metamorphic rocks. How???? Ask your child. Yum! I will post slideshow of all our science fun lately later tonight or tomorrow.
We have NWEA testing in Language this Thursday.
We will be having our pizza party for our pennies or patients winnings this Friday. Kids will get two pieces of pizza, chips, a popsicle, and a drink. If they want more then they will need to bring a lunch. We will eat in the classroom that day.
Don't forget the recorder concert is next Wednesday, April 25th, at 1:30 in the gym. Cya there.
We will have our final ALL FIFTY STATES AND CAPITALS test not this Friday, but next (27th.) Kids can practice on the blog games to find the locations, and learn the Wako song for Capitals help. They should not be learning these from scratch, they should be review. Hopefully.
Have a wonderful night!
