Hi there. Well, here it is. The complete rock/Earth Day slideshow. Well, I should not say complete EArth Day. I will, of course, want to include the Funky Junk statues that come in tomorrow morning. :0) Yep, they are due tomorrow. Kids have been excitedly coming up and telling me about them. They sound fun and very Earth friendly! :0)

Today, we made our marble rolling Earths. Kids then wrote Bio-Poems from the Earth's point of view to go along with them. They turned out great! Once again, these kids are so so creative! They are hanging in the hall if you would like to stop by and see them.

Many kids returned their Earth Day Home checklists today. Were they fun?? Did you have great discussions? I was also happy to see so many of you put your plan into action already! Remember, if you do something around home that changes your house more "green" just right me a note in the planner for a $500 reward. (That is half a field trip!) Kids also need to turn in their checklist and plan tomorrow for a science grade. A signature on those = $100 reward. :0)

Today we did our Language NWEA testing. Holy Buckets Bat Man! We made some serious growth in here. All those Parts of Speech and DOLs paid off! Read 180 kids also made AMAZING growth. I am so proud of all of them. Our last test, Math, will be next Tuesday. Then we will KISS the test goodbye!

We will resume our Sitton spelling tests tomorrow. Hopefully, kids are studying tonight. It would be AWESOME if everyone got to move up a test tomorrow.

We will also finish up our Balto book tomorrow by writing Haiiku poems with our Junior Field teacher, Mrs. Dejares. We will also read about Togo and then compare and contrast the two dogs. Monday, we will start our new novel, Riding Freedom. Remember, Read 180 and Mrs. Culp's kids should also read this book at home with you if possible for the field trip. Please write me a note in the planner if you would like me to check out a book for you. My reading class will get a book on Monday. It is a great read!!!

Tomorrow is our Pizza Party!!!! Kids do NOT need a lunch unless they want one. We will eat in the classroom. They can bring a soda, but drinks will be provided.

Lastly, grade reports will come home tomorrow. Grades are going up, but some still need some work. Please discuss them with your child this weekend. Library books tomorrow as well.

Have a wonderful night!
