Help! I am Stranded!

Hi. Just a short blog tonight due to a meeting soon.

Some of your children brought home the latitude/longitude game that we played in Social Studies today. They wanted to play with you. If you do play together, write me a note in their planner and I will give them a $50 bonus at check in tomorrow. It is super fun!

Boys honor choir has been moved up. Mr. Goodheart will be pulling the boys out tomorrow to audition. They MUST have their purple permission slip signed and at school tomorrow. Girls need to return their slips by the date they wrote on top of it.

WISH tutor training started today. Kids that missed it or arrived past 8 a.m. will not be allowed to be a tutor. Mrs. Zimmerman was very clear on this when she spoke with them. Great job on being responsible!!!

Tonight's homework is spelling and nightly writing. Tonight they need to write a half page about being stuck on a stranded island. (Just like in the social studies game). My only rule is that they have to tell me their location using a longitude and latitude coordinate. For example, they might say...Help me! I am stranded at 30 degrees North and 15 degrees west. They can make it up or they can use a real map. Then they can just tell me all about what they are doing there. Food? Animals? Weather? Friends? Have them read it aloud to you. If they do, write the word Island in their planner and they will earn $20 at tomorrow's check in. I'm excited to hear them tomorrow!

Lastly, may I just say thank you. Thank you for sharing your child with me. These kids are so fun! They are so willing to learn, and they are so excited to do so. But most of all, thank you for communicating with me. Many of you have emailed me, texted me, and come in for a visit. We are a team, and I appreciate you!!! Thanks!

Have a lovely evening.
