Oh my. What a hard day that just seemed to last forever. I think the kids would agree that we need to come back from a break with a half day. What a day.
We started our long multiplication problems today. We also took a final basic multiplication test in class. I sent it home with a parent signature note for you to view. I don't think I can say it any clearer than I have said it before. If kids don't memorize their basic multiplication facts from 0 x 0 to 12 x 12 they are going to struggle in the 4th grade. This is a fact. There, I said it and now I am done saying it. :0) Most kids have most of them already. Yay!!!
How are those otter projects coming along? Many mentioned that they have started them and are having fun making them. That is great. I can't wait to see them on Thursday morning. Three more days...
In science today, we talked about the human cell. Ask your child what the job of the cell membrane is. If they can tell you and relate it to the cell cop, write the word cop in their planner for $20 bonus.
Nightly writing came home today. Students need to write Jeff the Nature Guy a thank you on the provided otter sheet. It needs to be 4th grade quality work and full of what they learned, thank yous, and what their favorite parts were. Then they need to color around their words and cut it out. I will be sending them his way soon. Have your child read theirs to you tomorrow. If you think they did a "hard working" 4th grade job (should have good edits and at least five to six sentences) then write the word Jeff in the planner for another $10 bonus tomorrow.
I leave you with some pictures of their art projects. They did a lesson on landscape in the Lewis and Clark era. They turned out awesome. How fun. Thanks Mrs. Snyder for making art fun!!!
Have a great evening!
