Wow! What an amazing day!!!! It started off with a fantastic CC meeting about what a hard working 4th grader looks like. I was proud of them for having the same expectations for themselves as you and I do. We talked today about how it is great to have mom, dad, and teacher being proud of them, but at some point they need to make behavior choices and be proud of themselves. We will get there! I will be watching these behaviors a little closer and pushing them even further to help prepare them for the real world someday.

Now that the field trip is over, we will focus our money on the next adventure...Polar Express Day. We do a whole fun but educational day focussed around the book and the movie Polar Express. It will be a $1000 buy in. However, for this one they must also earn their way in. Students will receive 5 missing assignment passes tomorrow. On Polar Express day, they will need one of those passes left to earn their way in. For every missing OR incomplete homework/classwork assignment they will have to give me one of their passes. If they don't have any on Polar Express Day, they will not be allowed to buy in. I will also be checking with all off their other teachers too. Here is where you will come in as well. I will be asking you if your child has earned the day as well. Are they doing things at home like they should be? Are they showing respect to you and their siblings? Are they doing their homework and chores the first time you ask? They will also need a YES from you! Polar Express Day will happen on the Wednesday before we leave for winter break. That is roughly a month away. Please be watching for hard working 4th grader behaviors. Yes!

I will post all the fun pictures from today later tonight in a slideshow. What a fun day. Ask your child to tell you their favorite part (beside playing on the playground!). If they can tell you some things that they learned (which is their homework tonight: fifteen new scientific facts they learned today from Jeff), then write the word OTTER in their planner for a $10 bonus tomorrow.

Kids may chew gum tomorrow in class for $1. Bitterroot earned $296.80 today for hat day! Wow! Great people here in this community. I loved seeing all the earneds today in the planners. Way to go!
