In music class, Mr. Goodheart has started the preparation for the upcoming Holiday program. Many of you have asked for the songs and words to practice. Well, you ask, and you shall receive. Off to the right under Ms. Erickson's Favorite Sites you will find a link to Mr. Goodheart's blog. The actual songs can be heard, and the words are there also. Print them out, play them loud, whatever. They will be ready to go for the show! :0)
Kids received their first pen-pal letter today from North Carolina. They were able to read about their 5th grade friend today. Tomorrow, we will skype in and meet them live in person over the computer. Our pen-pal's teacher is AWESOME, and I should know cuz she is my sister! Should be great fun meeting them tomorrow. We will also ask them a few questions about their state, as it is one of the ones in our regions. Speaking of states, remember I moved the states and capitals to two weeks from this Friday, so keep studying. We will be hitting the Social Studies books again next week now that Drug Free Week and Conference Half Days are over.
Tomorrow the kids have their spelling tests. They will also have a quiz on the 4's multiplication facts (Along with review 0-3s). Hopefully, they have been playing the games on the blog for the fours this week. Keep on doing that xtramath.org too. Many have told me they are seeing a difference at home. That is awesome!
Today we read about Annie Oakley at CC meeting. We learned that she was a sharpshooter. In fact, she was able to knock some pretty interesting items out of her husband's hand and mouth. If your child can tell you what one of those items was, write it down to earn an extra $50 tomorrow.
Next Tuesday, is Montana's Birthday!!! Part of the 4th grade SS curriculum is Montana History. So, we will be celebrating it Montana style. There will be a $300 buy into the party. Yee-Haw! More details to come.
I hope that you have a lovely evening. Enjoy the sunshine!
