Student Council Speeches Due Friday!

Hi. A much better day today. Thanks for talking with your kiddos.

It is the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day today. We watched a youtube and read about it today. Ask your child what war it started. If they can tell you, write it down in the planner for $10 tomorrow.

Next Monday, I will begin to take the buy in money for Polar Express Day. I will also be sending home the grade sheet for you to fill out for their home behavior and to obtain your permission tomorrow. Remember, they have to have your permission, my permission, and $1000 to participate.

In science we joined up with Mrs. Hankin's class to do a human body scavenger hunt. We learned a ton about ourselves. Ask your child to share.

In SS, we shared our car inventions. Some were pretty inventive and I wonder what Mr. Ford would have to say about some of the missles and fireballs coming out the back! :0) They will be on display soon. Fun!!! Keep studying those Mid-West STates and Caps.

Nightly writing came home for everyone today, and I do mean everyone! Each child was assigned a color in class. They need to write at least a half of a page story on What happened to Rudolf's nose. The story needs to start with Rudolph having a red nose, and then something creative and interesting with lots of fun details happens to turn it the color they were assigned. I need your help tonight to edit those. Help with proper spelling, capital letters, and punctuation at the end of those sentences. Have your child read it aloud to you and find their own mistakes. Then please look at it with a pen, and mark it up. We will write the final ones tomorrow on fun paper. Hopefully, they will be error free when we hang them in the hall. If you do this and I can tell, I will award your child with $100. Just sign your name on the story in their nightly writing journal. Thanks so much for helping out at home. Again, they do not need to write the final draft until tomorrow. Kids that show 4th grade quality work will then be invited to make the fun craft that goes along with it.

On Friday, just a reminder to those kids that are wanting to be considered for Student Council need to have their speeches ready to go. Students need to be able to be at school by 8:00 promptly for the meetings once a month with the rest of the school and Mr. Senitte. This is an awesome way to show leadership and get our voices heard. There are so many in here that would fit this job well. We can only vote for three, so remind them to practice their speeches at home so they look and sound like they fit the part. Their waiter and waitress clothing would be perfect again for this. Again, we will do the speeches on Friday afternoon after Library.

Tomorrow is gym. Please help remember those tennis shoes.

Midterms went home today. Kids that return the top little signature sheet tomorrow will earn a $100. Overall, grades are looking pretty good. :0)

Have a super evening!
