For homework tonight, some kids are coming home with their reading novels tonight and their sticky notes. They know what they are doing and they know what their bookclub groups expectations are. They need to be ready to rock and talk tomorrow. 2 chapters!!!
In math we learned about congruent and similar shapes. Have your child explain the difference. Have THEM draw a set of congruent shapes in the planner and put YOUR initials inside the shapes to earn $20 tomorrow. We also continued to work on long division with daddy, mommy, sister, brother, and the dog named rover. Tomorrow I will film this in action so you know how to help your child work through upcoming homework practice problems. Until then, please continue to refrain from teaching this skill at home to avoid confusion. Thanks!
Tomorrow is the try outs for the Venture Theater Play. The PTA buys this for 4-6th graders every year and it is AWESOME! All kids that try out will make the play. It is a musical this year. Try outs are tomorrow at 3:15 in the gym. Kids MUST be able to attend ALL rehearsals starting Monday for the next two weeks. Honor choir is excused. Everyone else MUST attend to keep their part. There will be two showtimes in the day at school and one evening show for parents to attend. No experience needed, just a good attitude and a willingness to practice at home. Come one, come all.
Lastly, thank you to all of you that wrote YES in the planner today to keep the blog going. It must have been the holiday season being too busy when I felt I was writing for few. I also LOVE that many of you were almost begging me to keep it. That makes me feel ultra appreciated and so worth my time. I love that you are involved with your kids learning!!! Thanks!
