Hi! Happy Tuesday all ready! This week is flying by.

Tomorrow, we start our Reading MONT Cas testing. We will take session one. Kids will earn $100 for being here on time tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday. They may also earn $50 if you write them a good luck/positive note in the planner tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday. :0) Kids are also receiving positive notes from their testing buddy in Mrs. Umemoto's third grade class. It has been fun encouraging each other. I was happy to report to Mr. Senitte that we had NO make up testing to do from our class. He was excited!!!!! Let's keep up the perfect attendance.

Volcanoes are due tomorrow morning. Please have kids bring them down in the morning and place on the tables outside the classroom. I can't wait!!!

Today, we started to build our Inuksuks! The rock statues of people are looking awesome!!! They will be out in the hallway on display as well, but take a look at the ones finished today! Alaska study rocks!!!! (Get it...rocks!) Ha Ha!

We read some more in our Ice Worm book. Kids have an Allison letter for nightly writing tonight. We have almost mastered it. Those that master this one, will not have to write anymore. Those that don't will continue until they show mastery.

Kids have a health test on Thursday. They were reminded to bring home their notes today to study.

Students in my reading class need to finish up their thank you letters to Jeff from the zoo. They need to use correct letter writing skills and write at least a half a page. They also MUST color the owls on top. Letters are due tomorrow.

In math we continued with our fractions. We added fractions with unlike denominators. But, we did not stop there. We then took the answer and reduced them to lowest form and/or changed them from improper to mixed numbers. It was crazy maddness!!! They did awesome though. Some of them are loving it when they do all that work and get the right answer! Challenging work! We also learned that there is no such thing as HARD work, only challenging. :0) Hard is an adjective describing a solid substance. Nice!!

Have a wonderful evening. Remember those protein snacks, gum, and bed early. Thanks!!!
